Aimé Clariond

Aimé Clariond (1894–1960, France) was a French stage and film actor who appeared in over 80 films from the 1930s to the 1960s. He is best known for his supporting roles in classic French cinema, including the stern German officer in Jean Renoir’s *La Grande Illusion* (1937) and the character Octave in Renoir’s *The Rules of the Game* (1939). Clariond’s career bridged theater and screen, contributing to the golden age of French filmmaking with his versatile portrayals of authority figures and aristocrats.
