Brigitte Bardot (1934–Present, France) was a French actress, singer, and model who became an international sex symbol in the 1950s and 1960s. She gained worldwide fame for her breakout role in And God Created Woman (1956), directed by Roger Vadim, which showcased her as a liberated, sensual icon influencing fashion and women’s liberation movements. Retiring from acting in 1973 after over 40 films, she later became a prominent animal rights activist.
