Burt Lancaster

Burt Lancaster (1913–1994, United States) was an American actor and film producer renowned for his athleticism, charisma, and range in over 70 films spanning five decades. He rose to stardom in the 1940s with roles in films like The Killers (1946) and won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of a charismatic preacher in Elmer Gantry (1960). Lancaster’s career highlighted his versatility in genres from film noir to Westerns, and he co-founded Hecht-Lancaster Productions, influencing post-war Hollywood cinema.
