Charles McGraw (1914–1980, United States) Charles McGraw was an American actor renowned for his gravelly voice and tough-guy persona in film noir, westerns, and crime dramas during the mid-20th century. He appeared in over 140 film and television roles, with standout performances as a detective in The Narrow Margin (1952) and as a gladiator trainer in Spartacus (1960). His career spanned from the 1940s to the 1970s, often portraying authoritative or villainous characters that contributed to the gritty realism of Hollywood’s golden age.
