Chelo Alonso

Chelo Alonso (1933–2019, Cuba/Spain) was a Cuban actress and dancer who became a prominent figure in Italian cinema during the 1950s and 1960s, particularly in peplum and adventure films. Known for her exotic allure and physicality, she starred in roles such as the Amazon queen in *La Regina delle Amazzoni* (1960) and opposite Steve Reeves in *Morgan the Pirate* (1961), contributing to the sword-and-sandal genre’s popularity. After a career spanning over 20 films, she retired in the 1970s and spent her later years in Spain.
