Christian Marquand

Christian Marquand (1927–2000, France) was a French actor and director. He gained international recognition for his supporting role as a French naval officer in David Lean’s *The Bridge on the River Kwai* (1957), and appeared in films such as *Barbarella* (1968) and *The Best House in London* (1968). Marquand also directed several features, including *Les Grands Chemins* (1959) and *La Morte-saison des amours* (1961), contributing to post-war French cinema.
