Edmund Moeschke

Edmund Moeschke (1914–1980, Germany) Edmund Moeschke was a German child actor best known for his role as the somnambulist Alan in Robert Wiene’s seminal 1920 silent horror film The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, a cornerstone of German Expressionism. He appeared in several other Weimar-era films, including Joe May’s Asphalt (1929) and Richard Oswald’s Unheimliche Geschichten (1919), showcasing his talent in early German cinema. His acting career was brief, primarily active in the 1920s, after which he retired from the screen.
