Ella Raines

Ella Raines (1920–1988, USA) was an American actress known for her work in film noir and comedy during the 1940s. She rose to prominence with roles in films such as *Phantom Lady* (1944) and *Hail the Conquering Hero* (1944), often portraying strong, independent women under contract with Paramount Pictures. Raines received a Golden Globe nomination for her supporting role in *Brute Force* (1947) and later transitioned to television before retiring from acting in the 1950s.
