Gail Russell
Gail Russell (1924–1961, United States) Gail Russell was an American film actress who rose to prominence in the 1940s with roles in Paramount Pictures productions, including the supernatural thriller *The Uninvited* (1944) and the Western *Angel and the Badman* (1947) opposite John Wayne. She appeared in over 20 films and television episodes during her career, often portraying vulnerable or romantic leads, but her work declined in the 1950s due to personal struggles with alcoholism. Russell is remembered as a tragic figure in Hollywood’s Golden Age, with her final notable role in the Western *Seven Men from Now* (1956).
