Gérard Blain

Gérard Blain (1930–2000, France) Gérard Blain was a French actor and film director prominent in the French New Wave cinema of the 1950s and 1960s. He gained recognition for his leading roles in Claude Chabrol’s debut films *Le Beau Serge* (1958) and *Les Cousins* (1959), as well as Jean-Luc Godard’s *A Woman Is a Woman* (1961). Later in his career, Blain directed several films, including *Un enfant dans la foule* (1976), and continued acting in international productions until his death.
