Gig Young

Gig Young (1913–1978, United States) was an American actor renowned for his charismatic, debonair supporting roles in Hollywood films and television during the mid-20th century. He earned the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Rocky in “They Shoot Horses, Don’t They?” (1969), after nominations for “Teacher’s Pet” (1958) and “Come Fill the Cup” (1951). His career included over 80 film credits, with standout performances in comedies like “Desk Set” (1957) and westerns such as “North to Alaska” (1960).
