Henry Brandon
Henry Brandon (1912–1990, Germany/United States) was a German-American character actor who appeared in over 100 films and television episodes from the 1930s to the 1980s. Best known for his role as the menacing Comanche chief Scar in John Ford’s Western The Searchers (1956), he frequently portrayed Native Americans, heavies, and exotic villains in Hollywood productions. His early career included stage work in Germany before emigrating to the U.S., where he became a staple in B-movies and series like The Lone Ranger.
