Jean-Paul Belmondo

Jean-Paul Belmondo (1933–2021, France) was a French actor renowned for his charismatic and rugged screen presence. He gained international fame with his breakout role as a petty criminal in Jean-Luc Godard’s Breathless (1960), embodying the spirit of the French New Wave movement. Over a career spanning more than six decades, he starred in over 80 films, excelling in genres from thrillers and comedies to historical dramas, and received numerous accolades including the César Award for Best Actor.
