Jean-Pierre Aumont

Jean-Pierre Aumont (1911–2001, France) was a French actor renowned for his elegant screen presence in both European and Hollywood films. He gained prominence in the 1930s with French cinema, later fleeing to the United States during World War II to continue his career, appearing in notable American productions like “Lydia” (1941) and “The Razor’s Edge” (1946). Aumont also excelled in theater and television, earning a Tony Award nomination for his Broadway performance in “Tchin-Tchin” (1962), and remained active until the late 1990s.
