Jeffrey Hunter

Jeffrey Hunter (1926–1969, United States) was an American actor best known for his roles in Westerns and adventure films during the 1950s and 1960s. He appeared in several John Ford-directed movies, including the pivotal supporting role of Martin Pawley in “The Searchers” (1956), and starred as Jesus Christ in Nicholas Ray’s biblical epic “King of Kings” (1961). Hunter’s career also included television work and a lead role in the short-lived series “Temple Houston” (1963–1964), though it was tragically ended by his accidental death at age 42.
