John Wayne

John Wayne (1907–1979, United States) was an American actor, director, and producer best known for his iconic roles in Western films. He appeared in over 170 movies, rising to stardom with Stagecoach (1939) and becoming a symbol of rugged American masculinity, with notable performances in films like The Searchers (1956) and The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962). Wayne won the Academy Award for Best Actor for True Grit (1969) and is regarded as one of the most influential figures in Hollywood history.
