Lee Marvin

Lee Marvin (1924–1987, United States) was an American actor known for his gravelly voice and portrayals of tough, world-weary characters in film and television. He rose to prominence in the 1950s and 1960s through roles in Westerns like The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962) and war films such as The Dirty Dozen (1967), earning an Academy Award for Best Actor for his comedic performance in Cat Ballou (1965). Marvin’s career, influenced by his World War II service as a Marine, included over 70 films and television appearances, solidifying his status as a Hollywood icon of rugged masculinity.
