Massimo Girotti
Massimo Girotti (1918–2003, Italy) was an Italian film actor whose career spanned over six decades, appearing in more than 140 productions from the 1930s to the 2000s. He rose to prominence with his leading role in Luchino Visconti’s Ossessione (1943), a seminal work often regarded as a precursor to Italian neorealism, and later starred in acclaimed films like In the Name of the Law (1949) and The Leopard (1963). Girotti’s versatile performances in historical dramas, comedies, and international co-productions established him as one of Italy’s most enduring leading men.
