Maurice Escande

Maurice Escande (1906–1988, Morocco/France) was a French stage and film actor. He appeared in over 90 films from 1930 to 1988, including notable roles in works like *Le Plaisir* (1952) and *Les Diaboliques* (1955), while also serving as an administrator and director at the Comédie-Française from 1957 to 1979. Escande was recognized for his contributions to French theater and cinema, earning the Légion d’honneur in 1965.
