Michel Serrault

Michel Serrault (1928–2007, France) was a French actor renowned for his versatile performances in both comedy and drama across stage, film, and television. He gained international fame for his role as Albin in the “La Cage aux Folles” film trilogy (1978–1985), earning César Awards for Best Actor in 1979 and 1980, and he collaborated frequently with director Claude Sautet in films like “Max et les ferrailleurs” (1971). Serrault’s career spanned over 130 films, highlighting his ability to portray complex, often eccentric characters, cementing his status as one of France’s most celebrated actors of the 20th century.
