Mona Maris

Mona Maris (1903–1991, Argentina) was an Argentine actress who began her career in silent films in Europe before moving to Hollywood in the late 1920s. She appeared in over 20 American films during the 1930s, often portraying exotic or glamorous roles in titles such as *The Woman from Monte Carlo* (1932) and *The Captain Hates the Sea* (1934), establishing herself as a notable Latina presence in early sound cinema. After her Hollywood tenure, she returned to Argentina and continued acting in theater and film until the 1950s.
