Pierre Renoir

Pierre Renoir (1885–1952, France) Pierre Renoir was a French actor and the eldest son of Impressionist painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir and elder brother of filmmaker Jean Renoir. A respected stage and screen performer, he is particularly remembered for portraying Inspector Maigret in Jean Renoir’s *La Nuit du carrefour* (1932) and for his work in *La Marseillaise* (1938).
