Ralph Bates

Ralph Bates (1940–1994, United Kingdom) Ralph Bates was a British actor best known for his roles in Hammer Horror films during the late 1960s and 1970s. He starred in productions such as *Taste the Blood of Dracula* (1970), *The Horror of Frankenstein* (1970), and *Dr. Jekyll and Sister Hyde* (1971), often portraying charismatic yet sinister characters. Bates also gained prominence on television, notably as Captain Andrew Blamey in the BBC series *Poldark* (1975–1977), and continued working in stage and screen roles until his death from cancer.
