Raymond Rouleau

Raymond Rouleau (1904–1983, Belgium/France) was a Belgian actor, director, and screenwriter who became a prominent figure in French cinema and theater. He appeared in over 50 films, including notable roles in Jean Renoir’s *La Marseillaise* (1938) and Max Ophüls’ *Le Plaisir* (1952), while also directing films such as *Le Mariage de Figaro* (1949) and *Le Secret de Mayerling* (1949). Rouleau’s career bridged stage and screen, earning him acclaim for his versatile performances and contributions to post-war European film.
