Richard Jaeckel
Richard Jaeckel (1926–1997, United States) was an American actor best known for his tough-guy roles in war films and Westerns. He earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Sometimes a Great Notion (1971) and appeared in notable films including Sands of Iwo Jima (1949) and The Dirty Dozen (1967). Over a career spanning five decades, Jaeckel featured in more than 70 films and numerous television series, often portraying rugged supporting characters.
