Stan Laurel

Stan Laurel (1890–1965, England/United States) was an English comic actor, writer, and performer. He rose to fame as the slim, bumbling half of the legendary comedy duo Laurel and Hardy alongside Oliver Hardy, starring in over 100 films from the silent era through the 1940s, including classics like *The Music Box* (1932) and *Way Out West* (1937). Laurel’s innovative slapstick style and character work significantly influenced American comedy, earning him an Academy Honorary Award in 1960 for his contributions to the film industry.
