Suzy Delair

Suzy Delair (1917–2020, France) was a French actress and singer who began her career as a cabaret performer in the 1930s before transitioning to film in the 1940s. She gained prominence for her roles in films directed by Henri-Georges Clouzot, including “The Murderer Lives at Number 21” (1942) and “Quai des Orfèvres” (1947), earning acclaim for her vibrant comedic and dramatic performances. Delair was one of the first French actresses to work in Hollywood, appearing in “Gigi” (1958), and continued acting into the 1990s, becoming a symbol of classic French cinema.
