After a short sabbatical, we are officially back in business.

We have a lot of exciting things lined up for the near future, including a massive wave of movie stills coming to the shop very soon.

To kick things off, check out these incredible new arrivals available for worldwide delivery:

    🎬 Fresh in the Shop

The Fighting Kentuckian: A rare, double-sided teaser poster.
The Philosopher’s Stone (Parash Pathar): A masterpiece from the renowned Indian director Satyajit Ray.
Fellini Classics: We have also just added several gorgeous posters from legendary director Federico Fellini.

    🛡️ Poster Conservation 101

We get a lot of specific questions about poster restoration. While we cannot answer every individual query, here is our #1 golden rule: Always try to conserve as much as possible first.

💡 Key Concept: Restoration is what you do only after conservation has failed.

To keep your collection safe, follow these essential ground rules:

    • Environmental Stability: Light, humidity, and pests are the biggest enemies of your posters. Keep them in a controlled environment.
    • The Acid Problem: Over time, paper becomes acidic (especially paper with a high wood pulp content).
    • The Brittle Effect: Acidic paper becomes incredibly brittle, making it highly risky to handle.
    • The Deacidification Cure: To fix this, conservators must introduce water, and sometimes alkaline bases, back into the paper fibers to neutralize the acid.

    📅 Coming Up Next…

In our next blog post, we will be breaking down the ultimate collector’s debate: The pros and cons of poster backing. Stay tuned!
