Alexis Granowski

Alexis Granowski (1890–1937, Łódź, Russian Empire/Switzerland) was a Soviet film and theatre director of Polish origin. He began his career in avant-garde theatre, collaborating with Vsevolod Meyerhold, before transitioning to cinema in the late 1920s. Granowski is best known for directing early Soviet sound films, including the influential “The Road to Life” (1931), which addressed themes of juvenile delinquency and rehabilitation during the Stalin era.
