Carmine Gallone

Carmine Gallone (1885–1973, Italy) was an Italian film director and screenwriter. He directed over 120 films from 1913 to 1961, specializing in adaptations of operas, historical dramas, and costume films, and was one of the most prolific figures in early Italian cinema. Gallone’s work spanned the silent era to the post-war period, often collaborating with major studios like Cines and Lux.
