Francisco Rovira Beleta

Francisco Rovira Beleta (1912–1990, Spain) was a Spanish film director and screenwriter. He began his career in the 1940s and gained international recognition with films like “Calle Mayor” (1956) and “Los Tarantos” (1963), the latter earning the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival. His work often explored social themes and adaptations of literary sources, contributing to post-war Spanish cinema.
