Frank Perry

Frank Perry (1930–1994, United States) was an American film and television director known for his work in independent cinema during the 1960s and 1970s. He directed acclaimed films such as “David and Lisa” (1963), which won two Academy Awards, and “The Swimmer” (1968), an adaptation of John Cheever’s story starring Burt Lancaster. Perry frequently collaborated with his wife, screenwriter Eleanor Perry, on projects like “Last Summer” (1969) and “Diary of a Mad Housewife” (1970), contributing to the era’s exploration of psychological and social themes.
