Héctor Olivera

Héctor Olivera (1931–Present, Argentina) Héctor Olivera is an Argentine film director, producer, and screenwriter renowned for his socially and politically charged films. He gained international recognition with works like *Funny Dirty Little War* (1983), which won the Special Grand Prize of the Jury at the Cannes Film Festival, and has directed over 30 feature films since the early 1960s, often critiquing authoritarianism and exploring Argentine history. Olivera co-founded the production company Aries Cinematográfica and has been a key figure in the revival of Argentine cinema post-dictatorship.
