Irving Pichel

Irving Pichel (1891–1954, United States) was an American actor and film director active during the silent and sound eras of Hollywood. Beginning as a character actor in films like *The Most Dangerous Game* (1932), he transitioned to directing, helming over 20 features including the horror classic *The Most Dangerous Game* (co-directed with Ernest B. Schoedsack) and the pioneering science fiction film *Destination Moon* (1950).
