Mario Bava

Mario Bava (1914–1980, Italy) was an Italian director, screenwriter, and cinematographer best known for his pioneering work in the horror and giallo genres. He directed influential films such as Black Sunday (1960), Blood and Black Lace (1964), and Kill, Baby, Kill (1966), which blended atmospheric visuals, suspense, and innovative special effects. Bava’s stylistic contributions helped shape modern horror cinema and earned him recognition as the “Master of the Macabre.”
