Michael Verhoeven
Michael Verhoeven (1938–2024, Germany) was a German film director, producer, and screenwriter known for his politically engaged cinema. He gained international recognition for films such as *The Nasty Girl* (1990), which earned him the Silver Bear for Best Director at the Berlin International Film Festival, and *The White Rose* (1982), addressing German resistance to the Nazi regime.
