Osvaldo Civirani

Osvaldo Civirani (1920–2015, Italy) was an Italian cinematographer, film director, and producer active from the 1940s to the 1980s. He directed around a dozen features, including spaghetti westerns like *The Sheriff Without a Gun* (1965) and peplum films such as *The Invincible Gladiator* (1961), while contributing as cinematographer to over 100 productions, often in the genres of adventure and exploitation cinema. Civirani’s work exemplified the low-budget, genre-driven output of Italy’s post-war film industry, particularly through his production company Cinescope.
