Paul Vecchiali

Paul Vecchiali (1938–present, France) is a French film director, screenwriter, and producer. He began his career in the 1960s with short films and gained recognition in the 1970s for feature-length works like *ZaZa* (1973) and *The Third Lover* (1994), often exploring themes of desire and marginality in independent cinema. Vecchiali founded the production company Les Films 35 in 1970 and has been a key figure in French arthouse filmmaking, influencing generations with his low-budget, auteur-driven approach.
