Ricou Browning

Ricou Browning (1930–2020, United States) was an American film director, actor, producer, and underwater cinematographer. He gained prominence for portraying the Gill-man in the underwater sequences of the 1954 horror film Creature from the Black Lagoon and its sequel Revenge of the Creature, while also directing the third film in the series, The Creature Walks Among Us (1956). Browning later directed low-budget films such as Mr. No Legs (1978) and contributed to underwater photography for numerous productions, influencing the development of aquatic special effects in cinema.
