Roberto Gavaldon

Roberto Gavaldón (1909–1987, Mexico) was a Mexican film director, screenwriter, and actor. He directed over 30 films during the Golden Age of Mexican cinema, with notable works including *Macario* (1960), which earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Language Film, and *The Night of the Iguana* (1964). Gavaldón is recognized for blending social realism with dramatic storytelling, influencing Mexican film history.
