The Story:
In the sun-kissed village of Arbella on the idyllic island of Corsica, mild-mannered retiree Mr. Lauriston (Olivier Hussenot), a continental newcomer from mainland France, settles in with his wife, only to be unwittingly thrust into the spotlight as the unlikely candidate for mayor due to a hilarious mix-up at the local Napoleon bar.
The plot thickens as fiery Captain Bartoli (Francis Blanche), the self-proclaimed pirate proprietor of the rival Café Bonaparte, sees his long-cherished mayoral dreams dashed by this outsider, sparking a feud that ignites further when Lauriston’s nephew Michel (Jean Houbé) falls head over heels for the ravishing Antonia (Geneviève Galéa), daughter of the notorious Valentino Amoretti (Louis de Funès), the village’s legendary “last bandit of honor” who boasts of twelve honorable kills.
As factions clash in a uproarious caricature of a Corsican vendetta, with Amoretti’s fearsome reputation wielded like a double-edged sword, prepare for a whirlwind of laughter, romance, and chaotic chicanery in this riotous comedy that turns village politics into a battle of wits and whimsy!
