The Story:
In the scorching Arizona desert Marshal Bill Haney transports accused killers Link Ferris (Barry Sullivan) and Tioga (Jack Elam) when they encounter sole survivor Captain Matt Riordan (Dennis O’Keefe) from an Apache ambush soon joined by stagecoach passengers Ann Bradley (Mona Freeman) her lover Phillip Scott fiery entertainer Mara Fay (Katy Jurado) and gunrunner Jonah McAdam (Bruce Cabot).
As Apaches under Chief Yellow Claw relentlessly attack the trek to Fort Dragoon Wells Jonah’s smuggling is exposed Tioga comforts then dies saving an orphaned girl and romances spark between Riordan and Mara while Ann falls for rugged Link.
With the fort ruined and water poisoned Link (Barry Sullivan) lures the warriors into a trap defeating them to win freedom then rides into the sunset with Ann promising pulse-pounding Western heroism and desert survival thrills.
