The Story:
In the swinging sixties of Munich’s Schwabing, middle-class everyman Augustin “Gustl” Wohlfahrt [Mario Adorf] savors Kamasutra bliss with loyal wife Helene [Gila von Weitershausen] until glossy magazines spark his feverish obsession with group sex liberation and he pesters her into advertising for a swingers’ commune.
Convinced his colleagues host secret orgies, Gustl filters applicants and prepares a mattress-lined apartment for the big night only to be rushed to hospital isolation just as the hedonistic crowd arrives leaving him tormented by jealous visions of the revelry.
Breaking free in a frenzy Gustl storms home to shatter his erotic fantasies amid chaotic debauchery expelling every guest before discovering Helene’s safe refuge with their child next door in Michael Verhoeven’s uproarious 1969 satire on bourgeois sexual revolution.
