The Story:
In the scorching isolation of an African desert outpost, the rugged Péhu (Alexandre Rignault), on the brink of death, unburdens his soul to his loyal comrade Charles Sigouane (Paul Bernard), confessing a life of crime—robbery and murder—all for the love of the enigmatic Marie (Claudine Dupuis), whose memory he cherishes above all, guarding a hidden fortune that promises redemption.
Defying fate, Péhu rises from his sickbed, intent on sailing back to France to reclaim his beloved and their ill-gotten treasure, but greed ignites a deadly betrayal as Charles slays his friend in cold blood, only to scour vainly for the elusive loot, propelling him on a vengeful odyssey to France where Marie, now wed to another and oblivious to Péhu’s sacrifice, faces Charles’s ruthless blackmail and false accusations to the law.
A tale of shattered trust and haunting remorse unfolds across barren sands and shadowed streets, where no crime yields fortune or forgiveness, drawing the tormented soul back to the merciless desert in search of a final, unforgiving absolution.
