The Story:
In the opulent shadows of Paris, John Harrington (Stephen Forsyth), a dashing and affluent proprietor of a luxurious bridal boutique, harbors a sinister secret: driven by a buried childhood trauma of his mother’s brutal murder, he slays innocent brides in a macabre quest to unlock fragmented visions that will unmask her killer, disposing of their bodies in the blazing furnace of his lavish mansion.
Trapped in a venomous marriage to the domineering Mildred, who wields her wealth like a whip and denies him freedom, John’s fragile sanity frays as police Inspector Russell closes in on his trail of terror; pushed to the brink, he finally axes his tormenting wife and incinerates her remains, only to awaken her vengeful ghost that plagues him invisibly, turning his every moment into a spectral nightmare of paranoia and isolation.
As John’s madness spirals toward a shattering revelation—that he himself wielded the hatchet against his mother in jealous rage—the haunting specter of Mildred ensures his eternal damnation, a chilling giallo descent into guilt, ghosts, and unrelenting horror where no honeymoon ends happily ever after.
