The Story:
Brilliant but arrogant young scientist Victor Frankenstein (Ralph Bates), denied his anatomical pursuits by his tyrannical father Baron Alphonse (Michael Gwynn), coldly murders the old man to inherit the family castle and resume his forbidden experiments in reanimating life, enlisting a sly grave robber for prime body parts and his dim-witted former classmate Wilhelm (Graham James) as an unwitting assistant to assemble a towering composite creature from harvested human remains.
When lightning surges through the laboratory, the hulking monster awakens with a damaged brain, escaping into the night to unleash a bloody rampage across the countryside, its savage murders pinned on the innocent castle chef by the scheming Victor, who soon recaptures the beast and chains it in the basement, exploiting it as a tool for personal vengeance—dispatching the nosy grave robber’s wife and his blackmailing housekeeper Alys (Kate O’Mara) to silence their threats.
In this chilling Hammer horror of gothic terror and twisted ambition, witness the unholy consequences of playing God as Victor’s monstrous creation turns the tables in a flood of acid and retribution, leaving a legacy of dread that will haunt your nightmares—dare you uncover the horror lurking in the shadows of Frankenstein’s domain?
