The Story:
In 1970s France, ordinary couple Paul [Michel Serrault] and Thérèse [Rosy Varte] escape their rattling airport café, selling it for fifteen million francs to buy the sunny Marseille waterfront spot Aux bons enfants for a peaceful retirement.
Their belle affaire unravels when a basement passage reveals Madame Max’s bustling brothel and a drug syndicate smuggling cocaine inside calissons boxes, with the neighborhood baker, oyster seller, mute dealer, and even the local commissioner [Michel Galabru] all entangled.
Refusing defeat, the resilient duo feeds false tips to ignite a frantic underworld gang war that destroys the criminals, delivering vintage crime-comedy chaos and a hard-won happy ending.
