The Story:
In the vibrant music halls of 1920s Paris, the fiercely independent Raymonde Bosset, known onstage as Caprice [Suzy Delair], dreams of stardom but struggles for her big break until her anarchist photographer friend Gambier, aka Bagnolet [Louis Jouvet], urges her toward the cynical songwriter Jeff [Henri Guisol].
Despite their bickering history, Caprice demands a signature tune from Jeff, who spitefully gives her a heavily jinxed song that dooms every prior performer, leading her to a fateful premiere at the Olympia Theatre managed by Milson [Henri Crémieux] where the curse strikes the pompous headliner Arsène Marval [Raymond Souplex] instead.
Amid roaring crowds that crown her Lady Paname and a passionate romance blooming from creative chaos, the watchful Bagnolet [Louis Jouvet] ensures true love and artistic triumph defy all odds in this glittering tribute to showbiz ambition.
