The Story:
In 1615 France during the reign of young King Louis XIII, bold Gascon gentleman Adhémar de Capestang (Jean Pâqui) arrives in Paris seeking fortune, rescues beautiful Gisèle d’Angoulême (Claude Génia) from a masked kidnapper, and is appointed champion by provincial nobles to protest the tyranny of Marshal Concino Concini and his henchman Rinaldo.
While Concini and alchemist Lorenzo plot to assassinate the king, Capestang saves the lonely monarch’s life and earns his friendship, but refuses Gisèle’s plea to join her father the Duke of Angoulême’s treasonous rebellion, trapping the loyal Capitan between rival factions.
With flashing sword and Gascon wit, Le Capitan battles court betrayals to break Concini’s sinister grip, restore order, secure his fortune, and win Gisèle in this classic swashbuckling adventure of loyalty and romance.
