The Story:
In the glittering world of Paris showbiz, famed tenor Miguel Morano (Luis Mariano) balks at starring in a lavish Mexican operetta, haunted by the vengeful shadow of his jilted lover Tornada; enter impresario Cartoni, who discovers humble Basque crooner Vincent Etchebar (Luis Mariano), Morano’s spitting image, and whisks him and loyal pal Bilou (Bourvil) to the City of Light, where Eiffel Tower painting gigs lead to a whirlwind romance with feisty flower seller Cri-Cri (Annie Cordy).
Posing as Morano in sultry Mexico, Vincent dodges Tornada’s furious schemes for revenge—including a hilarious botched kidnapping that snares Bilou instead—while entangled in a steamy love triangle with glamorous co-star Eva Marchal and his true heart’s desire, Cri-Cri, as comedic capers and mistaken identities threaten to derail the entire tour.
